How to Obtain a Motor Vehicle Crash/Accident Report

No information regarding the crash will be released until the report has been approved and sent to the Records Division. A minimum of 5 to 7 business days will be required before reports become available. You may telephone after seven business days to inquire if the report is ready and available. Records Division telephone: 732-222-1000, ext. 1800. Reports occurring on or after October 1, 2016 may now be obtained via the web by visiting the police reports website.

You will need the following information:

  • First Name, Last Name, Date of Accident
  • Jurisdiction: Long Branch
  • State in which accident occurred: (NJ)

The first time you use this site you will have to create an account.

If the accident occurred prior to October 1, 2016 a copy may be obtained directly from the: Records Department

You must present valid ID: A driver's license or passport

or

By mail by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please include the following information: Driver/involved person name(s), date, time, location of the crash, and incident number (any missing information may delay the process). A $5 check or money order.

This event will be kept on record at the Long Branch Police Department.
